Residential Microgrid Pilot – Lancaster, CA (2022)

In 2022, Green Energy Estate Fund launched the Residential Microgrid Pilot in Lancaster, California, a forward-thinking renewable energy project. This 12-home residential area made use of rooftop solar panels, Tesla Powerwall battery storage, and high-efficiency SEER HVAC systems, all designed to show the potential of energy-efficient housing in a real-world setting.

The result? A 60% reduction in grid energy consumption, proving that energy-efficient housing and renewable energy projects can work together to lower energy costs. We also collaborated with the local utility provider to implement a time-of-use billing structure, which helped residents to optimize energy use.

Green Multifamily Retrofit Initiative – Los Angeles, CA (2021)

Another example of a sustainable residential project we did was the Green Multifamily Retrofit Initiative in Los Angeles. This project upgraded a 44-unit multifamily property with ENERGY STAR-rated appliances, reflective cool roofing, and smart thermostats. These upgrades lowered operational costs and provided long-term savings for residents. We secured Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing, using California state tax incentives to make the project financially feasible. As a result, the retrofit cut annual operational costs by $75,000 and significantly boosted the property’s asset value.
